On hold

Running a Café makes life very busy... in spite of good intentions, it has been impossible to save the time needed to update this blog... see you later, perhaps!

SeptemberFest

Yesterday was SeptemberFest, the GSAS registration day and student life fair. For the occasion, we were giving out cookies, as well and coffee and tea, mostly to students who had their registration coupon. It was a big success, as the Gato filled up with people like on a busy afternoon day and with the humming of conversations like rarely. We had a lot of good comments about our products, the exhibit, and the place.
On the picture below, Aaron is serving (talking to) clients.

"Geometry" by Andrew Samuel Friedman

This Tuesday we set up the exhibit that we will have for the first five weeks of the semester or so, "Geometry" by Andrew Samuel Friedman. Hanging a bunch of frames to the wall is much more work than one might think! Especially since we cannot use strong adhesives or nails... but it makes the space so much nicer!
The website of the exhibit is http://www.afriedman.org/art/geometry.php.
On the photo, the artist is taking a picture of part of the exhibit just after we were done with the installation.

Fun with Photoshop

We have a new poster (not a new logo) for the Gato, based on the famous Tournée du Chat Noir poster.

Poster: Café du Chat Rouge

It just needs to be printed now... there is one week left before the opening and so much to do, but hopefully you will see it around soon!

One more tea

Café Gato Rojo is not yet open for the year, but this is a time of serious preparations. Today, we met with Mark of MEM Tea Imports, our tea provider. We have decided to offer one more tea in our large selection: Chocolate Mate. (Mate is not tea, strictly speaking.)

The picture below is from last year and shows our tea shelf.
